Fabric used: pink shantung, approx 3m for the skirt and 2m for the jacket
Patterns: the jacket comes from a class (though the sleeves are just my regular gigot pattern), the skirt pattern is the truly Victorian trumpet skirt that I’ve used it for the red skirt too.
Notions: loads of lace (3m x 45”), 6m of braid
Making the jacket was an okay experience, I wrote more about how I felt about the lessons here. I added more lace and trim to make it more “me” and to match the skirt. The pockets do work, they’re just kinda small. You could probably fit a quail’s egg in there…or a lipstick.

The skirt is the first part in my Edwardian Ariel Halloween “costume” (I would definitely be wearing it pass Halloween though, just not with the red wig). For some reason I hated most of the process — I think I was getting annoyed with the shantung and the with sewing on the braid. I pretty much hated the skirt up until the point I finished it. That happens sometimes, and honestly I just roll with it and push myself to complete it.
The back of the skirt is terrible to be honest, mostly because I made the french seam way too big. I made a bow to cover the back when I wear it without the jacket, heh.
*The title is indeed a Trixie Mattel reference
I also added a dust ruffle as I plan to take this to the beach at some point. It’s really just a long ish strip of cream that I gathered and basted to the back lining. It took me 10 minutes to do and I think I should do this for more of my skirts since I wear them so much .
