I do love me some creepy-crawlies (except roaches…just no). I made some insect hair accessories that both fascinated and disgusted my friends. I also make other miniature animals, mostly for my friends and their pets I also make miniatures of the floral variety. I try to diversify beyond just roses and camellias

Embroidery
I do embroidery occasionally. It’s quite a huge strain in my eyes (not like sewing isn’t) but I do enjoy it in small doses. Its quite painstaking — the sunflower took me 2 weeks, though admittedly I procrastinated like a pro.
Paintings
I use a combination of markers, watercolours and paint for these. I think I’m much better at landscapes than I am at portraits, and the only portrait that I’ve done doesn’t even have a face. I really liked this painting of the young Queen Victoria with her King Charles spaniel, Dash. I too have aContinue reading “Paintings”
Miniature people
I’d admit that sculpting/painting people is not my strong suit, but I hoped that I made it up in the little objects. I went through a phase where I made a lot of these as gifts for my friends and lecturers.
Train Dioramas
I adore trains, especially steam locomotives. While I do like model trains, I don’t like to just have them there so I try to incorporate them into something “useful”. I made this bedside table with a huge shadow box which I stacked on an old table I had lying around Prior to that, I madeContinue reading “Train Dioramas”

T Project Fundraiser
Organised by the Inter-Uni LGBT group in Jan 2020, all proceeds were donated to the T Project. I made an assortment of fruit clips and animal keychains.

Each patient and their medicine/treatment was coloured accordingly, although the more dubious medications were given a grey tinge. For example, the pink girl with irregular periods would find that taking birth control pills were merely a bandaid and would findContinue reading “Literature and Medicine Project”
Fashion Illustrations
Although I’ve done some sort of painting/drawing/throughout my life, I have not truly practiced drawing until The Great Quarantine of 2020. I’ve mostly been doing fashion illustrations because that is what I like the best and here are some of the works I’m most proud of so far. I bought quite a bit of polyesterContinue reading “Fashion Illustrations”
Taxidermy
My taxidermy journey started with this little mouse Braunton. I took a class when I was living there and I really liked how it combined art and science. I have killed none of these animals and will never do so. Braunton started off as a little fixture in my desk — here he is movingContinue reading “Taxidermy”
